The idea for Escape came from an interest in exploring the use of virtual reality for relaxation therapy or along with other relaxation techniques. It took a little over a year to develop, starting January 2019 and being completed March 2020 with a subsequent release date of June 17th 2020.
The original version actually didn’t work well on the Oculus Go platform so the app was reimagined as being several separate apps instead, each featuring a single viewscape similar to the stereoscopes of the late 1800s or the derivative and widely enjoyed View-Master toy.
The first edition, Escape: Roma, features an old world-inspired pool side lounge and the second, Escape: Utopia, takes things into space with a galactic view seen from the comforts of a space station. Both editions are available now for $1.99 and can be purchased here
